What is the name of your state? PA
I had just graduated with my accounting degree, and received a job offer 2 weeks prior to graduation. i accepted the position, and when the HR manager called me last week to verify my information, she reiterated the fact that I was to report Tuesday May 30 @ 8:30 am. Well, I get there and the woman who had given me the interview asked me what I was doing there. I was a little a confused and said I was told to be here. She said I wasn't needed after all. There is a bit more to the story, but that is the gist, and no pertinent information was left out. Is there any action I can take? I quit my very reliable job for this position, and now I have no income and I am still stunned. Pleae help!!??What is the name of your state?

First lesson in your career. Don't quit your current job without a job offer letter in hand, at least.

Have you spoken with the HR Manager? What did she/he say? It's slightly possible you might have a case for detrimental reliance. However, things change and, without a contract you may also be SOL.
