I live in Broward County,Florida. My problem is we have already given notice that we will be moving on the 11th of Jan. 2001. Yes we will have to pay a "buy out" of 885.00, which I'm ready to pay. But alot of things have been happening in the apartment. like the a/c went they did come and fix that then the washer goes. the guy who fixes things cant fix the washer, i don't think he knows how. So its been 7 days and still no washer. the management said i could use another apt. to wash, they would leave the door open.Because my washer is under warranty. I have to wait for GE.Now do i have to wait forever to get my washer fix?I do not feel safe going to wash clothes in an apt. with no phone, and the door left unlocked. When i don't get home from work till after dark. They have a deposit of 800.00 and i feel that they are not giving it back. If i leave the apartment in very clean condition, can i give them only 85.00 and tell them that my deposit of 800.00 will pay my bill in full. Is that possible? If not then when we do the final walk through can i get a signed paper saying they will give me my money back. I feel once I hand over that 885.00 check that i will never see my deposit. should i take pictures of the apartment before I leave. This company is not the people that we signed up with when we moved to fl. 3 years ago. I've tried to do everything by the book but I feel very uneasy about my deposit. Please help me if you can.

Sorry, the war, or rather, the election is over. Those uncounted or unrecounted votes don't matter now even under a FOIA.
That goes to show you how ridiculous this country is and how the law is used to stall and twist things around.
