i have owned a peice of land in virginia for 12 yrs now, which was given to me by my parents. the people who own the property next to me, which use to live there, but have moved, renting their mobile home, have part of their driveway on my property. they do not have a right of way. my parents gave them use of the road for as long as they lived there. they are now renting the place, and we are having some problems with them. could someone please tell me if i have the right to block the drive where my line is?

Hello Homeguru,
I just wanted to say thanks and to let ya know that I finally got ahold of an attorney, he said that I would need to find a lawyer in the county of the land and do a search on the land. So when I come up with the $, that is what I am gonna do. That way if the other property owners put up a fight, I will have someone in my corner with the knowledge of the law that I lack. Again, Thank you.

How come you didn't say these people have prescriptive use of this drive?
