i live in the staten island area of n.y.............. I left my part time night job,in july, to find a full time day job & i haven't had any luck yet. My ques. to u is would i be able to collect unemployment insurance?

Not if you quit your job. Unemployment insurance is available to those who lost their job through no fault of their own. It is not available to employees who quit except in the very rarest of circumstances. Quitting a part time job to find a full time job and being unable to find one is not even close.
