My response:
No. Remember, Small Claims court is meant to be "easy". It is the "People's Court", in a manner of speaking. Judges realize that the people coming before them are not attorneys - - they are Mr. or Mrs. Average Citizen, and attorneys are not allowed (unless it is a corporation that is suing, or being sued - - then an attorney must go to Small Claims court). But if it's just Average Citizen versus Average Citizen, then the two of you duke it out, without attorneys.
However, there's no reason why you can't consult with an attorney BEFORE you go to court - - to get tips on strategy, and to make sure you have all necessary documents and other proof necessary to win your case.
You may, instead, buy a book from your local Barnes & Noble Booksellers and, in their Legal section, get a good book on winning in Small Claims court.
Good luck to you.
