HI, I LIVE IN SOUTH CAROLINA; I CAN NOT AFFORD AN ATTORNEY, THE SIMPLE FACT IS THEY COST TO MUCH, AND I NEED TO TAKE MY EX-WIFE BACK TO COURT FOR A REDUCTION ON CHILD SUPPORT. I JUST WENT TO COURT ON A THIRD CHILD BY MY EX-GIRLFRIEND AND THEY ARE TAKING 50% OF MY PAYROLL CHECK WEEKLY ON THREE KIDS, TWO BY MY EX-WIFE AND ONE BY MY EX-GIRLFRIEND, THE QUESTION IM ASKING IS DO I NEED A LAYWER OR CAN I REPRESENT MYSELF AND HAVE SOMETHING DONE TO LOWER CHILD SUPPORT ON TWO KIDS BY MY EX-WIFE. I AM IN DESPERATE NEED FOR AN ANSWER.

THANKS
WES

Wes what you need to do is develop a conscious and a sense of responsibility for your children. From reading these posts I am certain this advice is going to fall on deaf ears but...get a clue.

Well, if you are going to make them you better make sure that you can afford them. But that is not your question is it?

Contact the local child Support Enforcement Office... or check out this page http://www.acf.dhhs.gov/programs/cse/index.html

There is probably an office in your town and you can go in and they will review your financial situation. Of course, you may have to work with other state agencies if any of these children are in another state. I know that in Florida, they expect you to pay for your kids... whether or not you have a job or whether it's a high paying job, they'll tell you to get another job.

I don't know if any of this will provide you with any help, but it's worth a shot to contact them.

Poor Children

Wes....how is your relationship with your children. Do they know you. Do you spend quality time with them. All this plays an important fact when requesting modification on a court order. I am in a the same sinario as you only the opposite way Im the ex-wife with the two children, taking on full care of my children. I think if the missing parent would just talk to me he would find that everything could have went soomthly. Getting the Court Order Modified or lowered. But because he was avoiding the responsibility and he was no where to be found, I'm afraid he has suffered more than necssary. Do you speak to the mother's of your children. I think if you really want to make things right, go and talk to your ex-wife, go and talk to the ex-girl friend. Stop running and face what you have been missing. Those children where left in the care of you and those women. And believe you me IT TAKES MORE THAN JUST MONEY TO RAISE CHILDREN. Pray about it and the lord will help you with the words, lawyers and what ever else you need to make you and your children happy.....the only legal advice i have for you my friend is treat people the way you want to be treated.
