So.. The police came to my house with a search warrent for grand theft and mock auction.
They took my computers and found some novelty ID making equipment.
I basically wrote a statement admitting to it all and agreed to pay back the money and said that the ID stuff is a hobby. The police left and said they'll compile a report and give it to the DA.
Now, the detective calls me up and ask about where I bought the ID stuff, where to download stuff, and who I have contact with with regards to the ID stuff.
Should I be answering all his questions? Since he said my level of cooperation will factor in what my sentence would be? Should I get a lawyer? What can a lawyer do for me?
Thanks for any reply!
This is California.

the detective has nothing to do with your sentencing, get a lawyer before you talk and see what kind of deal you'll get. remmember though, snitching is a lifetime scar, you'll always be in jail just minus the bars. you did your crime, now take it like a man.
