No. I thought this to be a serious message board or I wouldn't have bothered posting.
But for those curious minded people.. there were 3 accusations total..
1. I have an extra passenger in my cab (against the rules) .. True
2. I provide sexual favors to my customers... two of them inparticular, one of which is paralyzed. I named this accusation, because he made a complaint about it to the government agency that pays the disabled persons cab fare... therefore, its documented and provable.
3. I left my husband and 5 children for the girl that generally rides along in my taxicab with me, and that she and I purchased a marriage certificate during the week or so that they were being sold in my county.
Neither the second or third are true, I had thought that to be fairly obvious by the simple fact that I was asking for help in filing a libel suit :/
The third accusation is pure hearsay, I have been driving for my company for about two years, this man about 4 months. I am also the veteran driver for the shift in question. Most fares repeat themselves, for instance, the person goes to work m-f at 5am .. or to dyalisis m w f @ 430 am.. whatever..
The good ones you make a point of remembering. after a couple years of driving someone around day after day you do get to know them, and a few of them are even now friends of mine and my husbands.. most of them would likely testify for me, not against.
The other driver did manage to find one person willing to speak badly of me.. the gentleman says he told me he might go to the bar once in awhile and let me know ahead of time the bar he mentioned was a few blocks from his home. He said I told him to go to a bar farther from his home.
That is true to a point, true enough that I wont argue it at any rate. The bar, is a pretty popular one, and i did tell the man laughingly (which i suppose doesn't matter) that there was a very nice bar very far from his house. .. I was kidding with him, if he didnt take it that way.. well then, "oops".
I've also told some of the guys that they should never ever move in with or marry their girlfriends and if they move, farther away.. not closer.. obviously I was teasing. I do that often.
As for the board being anonomous.. I really don't care who knows that the guy is makin up stupid little stories, i suppose he is jelous, or has no life of his own, i really dont know.
There is a position I want within the company. I have been promoted twice in my two years, and was 2nd choice when the position came available the last time. It looks as though it may come available again soon. And allthough no formal action was taken about the complaints, and I was assured that noone belives them, there are little changes already.
I am one of 4 female drivers, amongst over 200.. needless to say, I stand out. Nearly everyone speaks to me everytime I show up. They all know my name. I try very hard to greet everyone, smile, say goodmorning.. that kind of thing. I can't by any means remember all of their names, but I don't want them to know that.
Lately I say goodmorning to people that used to walk up and shake my hand everyday, chat for a minute. They blow me off, mumble a hello, and keep walking.
The raport with the drivers is very important for the position that I want. Not to mention the two people in charge of hiring. I'm a girl, and I'm doing WELL driving a cab. Only a small percentage of people stay for more than a month. I am used as a positive example in training classes. I'm the "sucess" story they use to motivate new drivers.
When they think of me now, will they think of me as a success, or as the girl that slept her way into her position...
as far as driver positions go, the two most coveteted positions, are Night Wheelchair Van Driver, and then Day Wheel Chair Van Driver. I was just promoted to days!
