What is the name of your state? Maine
I'm in trouble and want an attorney who my father does not like. My mother says it is OK to use him. Does my father have to agree? He says if he doesn't agree no attorney can take my case.

Of course your parents don't have to agree on you representation.... However, the second attorney will not (should not) agree to represent if an attorney has already been designated.

He says if he doesn't agree no attorney can take my case.
Not true. Any attorney will be glad to take the money... whether your father agrees or not.

I am 17. I'm charged with a criminal offense. My parents are divorced. I've always lived with my mother. My mom has agreed to pay the attorney I want. My dad says he'll write to the DA and everyone else he needs to because he does not want an attorney who will just get me some sort of treatment and get off. He wants to see that I learn to accept responsibility for what I did even if it means I go to jail.
