Less than three months ago we were told by the mechanic we needed to replace the a/c condenser and two other parts(that had to be replaced to get warrantee on the condenser ) installed. We agreed. Now the condenser broke and the mechanic says that he couldn't find any record of the other two parts being installed to warrantee the condenser. After we gave him a copy of our receipt (he asked for it because he lost all paperwork) he pointed out that the other two parts are not listed as being replaced. A technician there said is was common for them to round the parts up and not list every detail. For example, he also neglected to list the freeon on the receipt. The mechanic can't find any paperwork including the receipt for the condenser itself. The most ironic thing is that when we took the car home the first time he even reminded us to please bring the car in if the a/c goes on the fritz again because it has warranty and some clients forget. My question is if I can prove that what he charged in parts does not add up to the condenser alone (i.e. total for parts $320 condenser from auto parts $215.) Is there any case in small claims court. I really just want the a/c in my car to be fixed like I was told it would be through the warranty but if that is not an option could I get the $520 We spent originally back?

You could sue him in small claims court; however, your damages are the costs to get the A/C working, plus maybe some loss in value if there really is no warranty. You won't get your original $520 back.
