What is the name of your state?
Louisiana
My husband was recently fired from his job of 11 years for failing a drug test. The drug he took was a prescribed medication which belonged to me. He took this because he was having difficulty sleeping. The reason given by his employer was failure to comply with company policy. But, this is not the issue.
He worked for an Indian Casino. The case is, several floor officers told friends of ours and also my parents that he was fired "because he was on drugs" and this happened while they were guest at this facility and these officers were on duty. Should these officers have known the reason he was fired. Is it legal for the human resource office or supervisors to give this information to other employees. Please let us know. Thank you.

It wasn't his medicaiton thus, he was on drugs in violaiton of company policy, no slander there, HOWEVER, this forum is for US laws only and this occured on Tribal land and is subject to the tribes jurisdiciton and law.
