What is the name of your state (Texas)?

Our group of coworkers signed cards to accrete into a union that was already on the property. During the recruiting process at informational meetings we asked and were told by the local union reps we would be able to have our own contract. Once accreted the union now refuses to negotiate a separate agreement for our group. They state the local reps were not empowered to promise us a separate agreement and those reps are no longer holding official positions within the union. Currently the union is negotiating a new contract for the group we accreted into. The company has requested we be in a separate contract because of the different complexities of our jobs. Our group signed a letter to the union demanding a separate contract like we were promised. They once again told us no.

Do we have any other course of action we can take?

You can ask the NLRB if they have the authority to make a ruling over something like this. If they say no, then that's about it, you're stuck with what you've got.

You have other options:

Texas is a right to work state so you can drop your membership in the union

If your group is large enough you can threaten, and then act of necessary, to actually decertify the union in place.

Depending on how your union is styled you might be able to affect the contract proposal to include separate rules specific to your group that would effectively result in something very similar to a separate contract.
