During Feb 2000 I had surgery performed in a Michigan Hospital. I had full insurance coverage with a company I was working with at the time. As far as I knew all was covered. I left the company in Jul 2001. I just received a bill from the surgeon for $480. Based on the accompanying paper work, they had sent the full bill to the insurance company back in 2000, but "forgot" this $480!! When they submitted the $480 to the insurance company now, the company said to the doctor "..you have exceeded the 1 yr time period..." So the doctor sent me the bill. I don't think I should pay. Do I have a legal stand on this????
Thanks

Probably not. But I don't know Michigan statutes on this sort of thing - try calling the Michigan Insurance Commission and see what they say.
