What is the name of your state? Michigan

Following my original post I have done some more checking and discovered something called invoking a doctrine of the equitable parent. Can anyone give me more information on this. The explanation I received was not very clear and I would like to make sure this is something that would be applicable to my situation, which is trying to get custody of my stepdaughters (bio mom out of picture for 8 years; dad & I are divorcing). Thanks.

Yeah, I see that you deleted all of your original threads..Which means it is going to make it even harder for someone to help you because it makes it look have you are trying to hide something by deleting it

By deleting all of your previous threads, you've also deleted the possibilty for people access the (useful) info you previously posted. So now you can start from scratch with the pertinent info.

I'll happily go first. As the step-parent, you have no inherent legal rights to your husband's children.

That was actually for the posters sake! So, she knows people remember her thread despite her deleting it and that she will not get different answers just because she deleted it!! My bad

Nah, it's fine!! I should have worded it differently as to direct it to the poster...I would never insult your intelligence, nor expertise on this board!

What are you on today, GU. It was made clear earlier in the thread that OP HAD earlier threads that she deleted. Is that hard to comprehend?

Ahh...so I guess the system automatically "adjusts" the post count to their name if they delete their previous responses. I moderate another type of board that doesn't do that, which is why I was questioning it.
