Does a Notice To Vacate need to be signed?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas.

I'm the landlord. I served my tenants a 3 day notice to vacate for failure to pay rent. I didn't sign the notice but I did type this part out, "Given from Landlord: My Name, My address". Should I serve them a new notice to vacate and sign it?


I really don't want to do that as this is the last day they have to pay.

If it were me as the LL, since this is the last day of the notice you provided, I would stay quiet about the non-signature and wait to see what happens. Maybe they will vacate. If they don't then I would correctly provide the a new, signed notice so it will stand up in court when I have to file for eviction.
