What is the name of your state? GA

Last October I was served with a summons for judgment for a debt that I did not feel was mine. I called the collection agency in question and although they would not believe me when I told them I did not recall this debt and needed clarification of such as I did not feel it was mine. I answered the summons anyway just to cover myself with a notice of appearance and then filed my answer. I then sent a validation letter to collection agency and never heard anything back from them. I have never heard anything else since I filed my answer.I have called the court on a few occasions, and the only pleadings in the file (other than the original summons) are mine! It will be a year next month. What do I do? Can this hang around forever like this? Do I just let it lie or what? Anyone know???? Thanks for any assistance.

Check the GA statutes. There are usually time limits for how long a case can be left haning like this, and a year seems excessive. You can probably have it dismissed due to lack of action by (can't think of the term) the plaintiff.
