I was divorced several years ago, at which time my ex signed a Quit Claim Deed, giving me ownership/possession of our house. His name is still on the mortgage (VA loan), although I live in the house and make the payments. I am considering assuming the loan in my name from the VA but there is quite a process involved. My question is, does he have any right to the property under any circumstances, i.e., if anything happened to him, would his "estate," or current wife, have any right to my home? I am thinking of doing some home improvements and would like to know what would happen if he decided he wanted to cause me any trouble.

thanks
