What is the name of your state? Florida

Does Florida charge interest on child support arrearage and if so, who gets it?
The state or the CP?
I am now confused by some of the threads I have been reading and would love to know the correct answer please.

As the link silverplum posted shows, yes Fl. can charge interest. The link doesn't show though that interest is not mandatory though. The DOR CSE can choose to not charge interest in some situations:
When charging interest is a hinderance to collecting the Arrears from NCP, or when NCP is low income or disabled, or has extreme medical expenses.

If there was public assistance paid to CP the state doesn't charge interest until the state is repaid, then they can charge it and CP recieves the interest.

I'm sorry I can't cite any statutes about it because there aren't any in Fl, but a case worker in DOR CSE told me all the info.

Thanks for extra info, Gracie! :) All I had was a lousy link.

We can do without the sacarsm by the postees.
I have manners and when I received a reply I would have said it.
But you people like to nic pick and I have noticed it throughout the threads and it is just a few of you and it is not appreciated.
Please read some of my other posts and then I will accept an apology from you.
You rudeness is not appreciated by myself or others who are on here looking for answers to questions.
If you dont like what I have posted then move on to another post that suits you.

I gave you your answer. I don't need to apologize to anyone.

However, I'll make note of you and remember not to help you, ever again.

You're welcome.

you just proved your bad manners, if they were still in question.

Yes, I think you can be safely assured that there are MANY of us that will make it a point to move on whenever we see you post. Please don't wait around for that apology as long as you waited around to say thank you.

I am sorry but I do not see ANYTHING rude about any of the posts in this thread. I am also sorry that you seem to have no sence of humor and a lot of misdirected anger.:p
You were given very helpful "free advice"

If anyone was rude it was you so called ladies. I use that worse loosely also for you.
Dont bother to answer my posts because I do not think it would be appropiate for you to do so.
Anger. No I do not have any anger towards you or anyone else. I was looking for some answers but did not need the sacarsm showed by you when I was trying to get some information.
You remind me of IAAL whom free advice is looking for.
People who troll the threads to be rude to others looking for answers.
