What is the name of your state? California

My son was sexually assaulted by his probation officer. No one wants to hear it, these people are above doing anything like that it seems. No one believes him except me and I want to help him. I am scared for his safety and mental capacity to get through this.

I do not think for a second that you believe this sort of thing happens, but if you were to open your mind enough, I can tell you that it is the truth. But, as one movie actor so eloquently put it -perhaps "wou can't handle the truth". I can see that things are a little hard in this country these days if people who reply to posts containing this type of story have your attitude. There are other websites that deal with any topic someone throws at them with sneers, sarcasm, vulgarity, and the unhelpful reply that you offered. What are you doing here? I have a story to tell that should end up on the front page of the LA Times. If you are not interested, that is fine, I was loking for someone who had some brainpower left.

Take your son to the doctor, and have him checked out. If this happened they should be able to find some evidece of it.

Otherwise file a report at the station and ask about getting him a new PO.

Thanks, I did this, but it was too late and no one wants to believe a probation officer would do such a thing. I had hoped someone would know of similar cases and an attorney who handles this kind of thing. Thanks for being polite.

Without proof it becomes your son's word against the PO's.

This is why the board hasn't really been able to give you much advice.

Sexual assault is always difficult to prove - especially if some time has passed, and medical evidence is unavailable or inconclusive. When it comes down to one person's word against another's, it makes it even tougher.

Unless witnesses, timing, circumstances, etc. can come together to paint a rather grim tale, it would be nearly impossible to prove even if the alleged suspect were not a probation officer.

There are a large number of attorneys that handle this sort of thing, but even the best attorney in the world can't make a case where there is no proof. And depending on the age and criminal history of the 'victim' it may even more difficult to make a case.
