answer to what kind of therapist
This is a therapist called a MFT in California...marriage, family and child therapist.
Do you know if it makes a difference if I make a complaint to the liscensing board (now will need to figure out how to find that, I am not good at these things),,,OR to her supervisor?
A interesting development.
I get an email from the father requesting I make contact with a new therapist. I talked to her on the phone two days ago. She is a psychologist. She has the SAME supervisor.
We left things to possibly set up a meeting. The therapy would be all between our daughter and her father as there are lots of problems there. She claims to have a lot of experience in "high conflict divorces" and claimed it was clear in this case that continued individual therapy for child is ineffective, but the focus needs to be on targeting whatever is going on between child and dad. (I know whats going on with child and dad...he has abused her several times, CPS considers it borderline so doesn't do anything based on a biased cps investigater...daughter has basically lost all trust and respect for her dad as DAD has not done anything to remedy their relationship)
I asked this prospective therapist how this all works, her exp., etc.and as the father would not give me any information how he found this therapist, I asked where/how my ex came to be in contact with her. She claims she doesn't know.
It came out in the conversation she admitted to knowing the previous therapist (the one I am considering filing a complaint about), and indeed has the same supervisor. Its obvious to me they have all talked though I don't know for sure. I feel the last therapist, among other things, got really enmeshed with my daughters case and my ex. I am concerned about giving consent to another therapist who has the same supervisor and may work along the same lines as the last therapist...
