Florida--

All right, I live in Florida and work in a nationally well-known company. A customer came in yesterday and we didn't have the part they needed and I recommended another (locally owned) company down the street and she said "Well, I use Store X (another locally owned company)" And then I replied "Well, I've heard a lot of bad things about this company and I've also heard they sell unlicensed copies of software"

Turns out this was a relative of the owner.. owner #1 came in and we talked and as far as I knew everything was okay. After I left for the day, I came in to pick up my check and the other employees were telling me that a man claiming to be the owner was really angry and was taking pictures of the employees and getting names and said he was getting a lawyer..they said they were glad I wasn't there they were afraid things were going to get violent..

I guess my question is, does this guy have a case?

Great news, what about protection from this guy coming in and yelling and scaring the other employees? Also, can you point me in the right direction to look at the law first hand? I'd search my own, but i don't know the first thing about laws...I'm not even sure if it's considered libel or slander?

Thanks in advance

go to the police a file a complaint. Then ask the court for a restraining order.

I will if I have to, would that be the store filing the complaint or me personally. I mean, I'm not even going to tell my superiors unless it's absoloutely neccessary, I'm extremely worried about losing my job.. plus i don't want things to escalate.
