does use of 245i incurr fine?

My wife and I have been married for 5 years. She entered the U.S. illegaly and we have never tried to legalize her for fear of deportation. I am U.S. citizen and we have a daughter (3yr old) who was born in Oklahoma. We would like very much to find a way to legalize her. Can 245i help and where can I get more info on this? We were married in the U.S. If we use 245i does that mean we have to pay a fine for her being here illegal?

as far as i know,if you are a us citizen,you can use the immediate family adjustment clause,with no fines,doublecheck with your attorney.
