Does wife get house when husband dies even though they have a property settlement?

i'm from pa. a husband and wife separate and get a legal property settlement done. husband gets the house and it is in his name only. he does not have a will set up and they are still married...if he dies, does she automatically get the house and all contents? and would a will make a difference to the outcome?
