7 years ago, a friends son was bitten by our family dog on our property. The child was waving a knife around and I believe the dog thought he was protecting my children. The child was 14 and required several stitches and metal staples in his head. He has a small hairline scar but nothing else visable.
Our insurance co. paid his medical bills and had his parents sign a statement saying they would not persue further action.
Now the boy has turned 21 and his lawyer sent him a letter saying that because he was a minor at the time he can sue us personally. He says that he won't but I don't like the idea of attorneys soliciting so many years after the fact
I live in Michigan. Can you give me any insight as to what I might expect or is it too long after the fact?
Thanks
