What is the name of your state? KS

My grandmother was taking care of a gentleman (cooking and cleaning) while living inthe same house as he did. Seperately of course. She was bite by his dog and required 9 stitches and after it was healed left her pinky finger disfigured to the point of very limited mobility and the placement of the finger now is in a postion where it is almost always in the way. The Ins. company said they would pay up to 1,000.00 for the injury. Well after 3 months of Physical therapy and many medications later, not much has changed. She talked to a Lawyer and they said they wouldn't be able to help her. My question is why?

There is no money in it for the lawyer. Your grandmother can sue the homeowner for the medical bills, as well as pain and suffering.
