My 2 yr old niece was attacked by a friend of her parents dog.

It required extensive surgery on her face and she is not out of the woods and will need more surgery in later years.

Because the owners of the dog had no renters insurance, and the incident took place in a military housing establishment my sister-in-law is having a very hard time finding a lawyer to represent them.

The bills are huge, there is more to come, as well as the truama my niece and her mother and father have endured because of this. They have contacted the housing establishment and they said she could file against the government itself but there are no guarntees..

Does she have a case? They are leary of filing against the owners of the dog #1 because they have no insurance, and #2 because they do not have anything for her to collect and they fear they will just file bankruptcy....

Thanks in advance.

Not that this helps much, but killing their credit for 10 years is better than nothing. Have they offered to help at all? How good of friends are these?
