Do you have a fence? Do you have homeowners insurance? What would you do if a child got in and drowned?missie said:What is the name of your state? ky
My neighbors dog had gotten into our swimming pool and destroyed the liner. Are they responsible?

But my sides hurt from laughing so much, there must be something I can doHomeGuru said:**A: no you can't sue the dog.
Under the Kentucky Toto Canine Non-Responsibility There's No Place Like Home Act of 1987, dogs are exempt from pool liner liability.
Well, that HAD occured to me, but I suspect the dog's trespassing on the pool liner may mitigate the liner's culpability. I suppose it depends - did the liner defend itself with deadly force? You Are Guilty said:You are all so quick to condemn animals here. Just how is it that you all magically know that it wasn't the liner that attacked the dog (and lost)?
Hmm?
I think you both are at fault. You for not having your pool properly fenced/enclosed....and them for not having their animal properly leashed/fenced.missie said:What is the name of your state? ky

The dog was a lion!stealth2 said:However, I'd like to know how the dog libeled, slandered or defamed missie while in the process of destroying her pool liner. Do all the other dogs in the neighborhood now think her pool sucks? Too cold, maybe? Or that she's mean and doesn't leave nice doggy treats out? Or are they all breaking down the gates to get into the pool which was "just right"?
Inquiring minds want to know!
