Dog Trainer won't refund my money

i'm from south carolina and i hired a dog trainer to train my dog to stop chasing cars. i had to give the dog away because my neighbor was going to have me in court over the disturbances. i had 1 lesson with the trainer, forgot to cancel the next one-she stayed for 15 minutes & left. total paid was $425.00 for 5 lessons. i want a refund of $300.00. the signed contract states on refunds :"cancellations can be made within 3 business days or until training has begun, whichever occurs first. no refunds will be given thereafter. the dog is gone through no fault of my own. am i entitled to this refund?????would I win in small claims court??????
