What is the name of your state? Florida - I was in an 8.5 year gay relationship with a man. We purchased a home together in October 2001. The title and other legal paperwork were in his name alone - although we equally shared all of our living expenses (including this home) during our relationship. After I moved out at his insistence in September 2004 he listed the home for sale. He has sold the home in January 2005 and realized a hefty profit. Am I legally entitled to equally share in this profit?

**A: not really since you were merely a gay sex toy tenant.
Now if you can prove that you contributed directly towards the property in terms of mortgage payments, real property taxes, repair and maint., hazard insurance etc. and have receipts to prove it, then you may have a claim of equity.
