I am the friend of a woman in Texas that was assaulted by an ex-live in boyfriend. When she announced that she was moving out, and that a moving company would be arriving within hours to move her, the ex started screaming and told her that she wasn't allowed to leave. She was in the bathroom packing her belongings when he calmly called her name. She opened the door, and he threw a household chemical at her, and attempted to blind her. He left the scene of the crime before police arrived, and she was rushed to the hospital where domestic violence pictures were taken. He was later charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She has a protective order, which he attempted to contest, and he also has another misdemeanor assault case pending against him for the same type of crime. He has now e-mailed several of her friends, myself included, claiming that he was "provoked" because she had removed his Playstation 2 from the premises two days prior. He feels that this provocation (which occured two days prior) was what set off the attack. Does anyone see how provocation could lessen the charge against him?

there is no way this man was provoked, there is such a thing as callin the police if he thought she took what belonged to him, he is just trying to push your buttons here. i have learned that batterers not only batter physically, but also try to play with your mind. theres not a judge that would think that she provoked him, no one deserves what he did to her

Amen! This guy is a louse and a nut job. The loss of a playstation does not warrant any type of violence, let alone one so dramatic.

I hope this guy gets locked away in a psych ward, where he belongs.
