What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York

I was married in the Dominican Republic about 10 yrs ago and would like to get a divorce at the lowest cost possible. Time is not a concern and I am a lifelong New Yorker. It is of mutual consent with no children and no possessions. She lives in the DR and I live here. Can she appear in court without me? Do we need a Legal Separation? Thanks
