I'm not sure if this is the right area but I'll try it anyway. I am from a very small town in Kansas, one where we bring in several towns to attend one school. We have a student that would do love to learn abroad. She has studied various languages by herself for the only high school offers nothing of the sort. SHe will recieve some financial aid to go to either a four year school or what ever but not enough to actually pay for her education. We know she has been putting in forty hours a week, then attending school full time to try to help her family and still recieve an education. Would it be wrong or illegal if we asked for donations to help pay for the rest of the expenses not covered by the aide she will recieve?

While I wish you a Merry Christmas, this is NOT a legal question and does NOT belong on this board.

May I suggest that tomorrow you go out and buy her a book about paying for college and scholarships and grants.

Also, please remember that many people of the most successful people helped work their way through college with summer and part-time jobs.
