What is the name of your state? N.J. I have primary residence and we now live in Maine . My daughter goes with her father for the summers in N.J. The other night I was talking to his girlfriend and she told me about them going to Flordia next month. I was stunned! He hasn't asked or told me. Legally shouldn't we have to let the other know things like that?

do you inform your ex when you take the child somewhere? dad doesnt have to inform you of what he does with the child on his time, he is in charge, not you. he can take the child anywhere he wants on his time, and you have no say in it.

To answer the ONLY legal question you asked, NO, he does NOT have to inform you, ask your permission or get special dispensation from you.

If your visitation order requires contact on a regular basis or if such 'permission' or information is required, then you already have your answer. However, from the tenor of your post, such is not included in your order.

This is dad's time.
