What is the name of your state?I'm from Indiana. when I was 17 I was in a car accident and was sent to the fort wayne hospital. since i was underage the bill was put in my parents names. nothing was ever in my name because of my age. when I turned 18 I filed bankrupt and my attorney told me that since the medical bills were not in my name they could not come after me and that I didn't need to file against them. my parents also filed bankruptsy at the same time and they had paid the bill down to $330 when they filed on it. now I just had my credit ran and it came up on my credit that i have a judgement of $1,045 from that medical bill....I was never contacted about it. I want to know can they legally come after me for this money since I was under age and my name was not on the bills plus since my parents filed bankruptsy on them for that bill? can I take them to court and if so what are my chances of winning?

As a minor you had no liabilty for that medical bill and just because you didn't include the medical bill on your bankruptcy doesn't mean it would be considered discharged anyway.

You need call the courthouse and find out WHEN this judgment was entered against you. You should get a copy of the proof of service that will tell you when, where, and to whom the summons was served.

You might need a lawyer to untangle this, but I don't think they can make that judgment stick since it was never your liability to begin with.
