I was at a mall and saw some people park in a handicapped spot who were not handicapped but had the sign hanging from their window. They were 2 younger girls. For some reason it infuriated me. I went over and scratched up their car with my car keys. Someone saw me do it and reported me to the police. I now have 2,000.00 worth of damages that I need to pay for. Will my comprehensive insurance cover this even though I did it on purpose?

No, you are responsible for the damages. You didn't cause the damage with your car.

Whoa....that was harsh!!! You may want to contact your insurance co. to make sure....they may cover it....it doesn't hurt to ask.

I bet next time you'll mind your own business and keep it moving.....this is an expensive lesson. ;)

I would really be surprised if your insurance company would allow you to claim intentional criminal behavior. More likely, your claim will be denied and you will have a chance of having your insurance dropped or made "not renewable".

P.S. not all handicaps are immediately visible.

If you make a habit of irrational vigilantism, I would suggest carrying a bar of soap to write nasty messages on their windows. Much harder to get in trouble for and much more effective at ridiculing the mis-parkers.

Just a quick note with all good intentions. My niece has MS. She is only in her twenties, pretty and blonde and petite and keeps a happy face for everyone and you can hardly notice that there is anything wrong with her. However, if you know anything about MS, you know that one can wake up on any given morning and not be able to feel your hands, or cannot feel your feet even touching the ground or see properly or you may wake up one day with no balance or in such pain that you cannot get out of bed. MS patients many times must depend on friends or family to drive them places because they cannot drive themselves. My niece will lose the feeling on the entire right side of her body; head to toe. She says it is like being cut in half. Just because someone does not look handicapped, does not mean they are not living in their own private agony; you just never know until you walk a mile in their shoes. *gentle smile*

You are probably liable for the damage; not your auto insurance. ;)

I'm glad I dont live near you. By the way, adding to melody's comment, it is common for cancer patients and pregnant women to get handicapped tags.
You are not likely to get your insurance to pay for this because it is an intentional act. Remember though, it is one thing to find the vandal (you in this case) but it is quite another to collect from them. It is quite possible thet their insurance company may not come after you after they determine what collectable assets you have.
