don't know where spouse is, question concerning serving papers

hello i am in maine and am seeking a divorce from my husband. i do not know where my husband is located at and have not seen him in over 4 years. the problem i seem to be having is the fact that maine requires i notify him but i have not a clue other than the fact he was suppose to go back to mexico after being released from jail. i have moved from where we were living and am in 'hiding' due to the abuse and fear of him and do not want him to know where i am at. is there a way around this??

they will know the proper procedure for you to follow on the notification. some states allow for a notification in newspapers as an attempt of notification.
