What is the name of your state? NV

I owe $50,000. to an attorney which is going up by 23% per year. I have no money and there is no chance I will ever be able to pay it back. Can I declare bankruptcy to remove this debt and get on with on my life or am I doomed forever?

I have been paying him about $150. a year, but what can he do to me if I just stop paying all together?

My friend said the government was trying to reinstate debtors jails, is this true?
:(

My response:

All you have to do is apply for, and obtain, "Sovereign Citizen" status, and the attorney can't touch you. The Supreme Court says so.

My response:

Oh, so you came here lying to us!

Have your friend talk to your other friend about becoming a Sovereign Citizen.

thanks for the advice I'll have him get right on that.:)
My response:

You're welcome. You know, I am a Sovereign Citizen, myself! Before she died, I was having an affair with Chief Justice Rose Bird of the California Supreme Court!!

I enter into contracts all the time, and when the creditor wants payment, I whip out my Sovereign Citizen badge, and say, "Neener, neener, neener, you can't touch me!"

My sponsor was Blonde Lebinese.

Of course! All you have to do is show them your badge, and voila! You're off the hook!

Did you see this idiot's other post?

IAAL is pulling your leg.

Yes, your friend can discharge the debt in bankruptcy provided s/he otherwise meets the requirements for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Talk to a bankrutpcy attorney. Most will give a free 30 minute consultation which is more than enough to determine if bankruptcy works.

No, there is no such thing as debtor's prison. There has been no discussion about reinstating debtor's prison. But, I am sure there are plenty of bankers and their bought and paid for far-right politicians who would embrace the idea.

Ok, now your calling me an idoit, that's not nice. I never said I believed anything my crazy friend told me, just wanted you guys to hear what kind of nutty stuff people come up with. Anyways this bankruptcy question was serious and had nothing to do with my delusional friend. Two completely seperate issues here.

My response:

No?

Then why did you take the time to write your "delusional" posts if you didn't believe your delusional friend?

You wasted our time . . . so, we wasted your time.

I am? I thought I was being quite serious, with my Sovereign Citizen badge, and all . . .

Can I get one of those? Does it come with the inherent power to put a curse on one's enemies? Can I apply to the US Government for foreign aid? Can I declare war on countries with a "z" in their name? Boy, I sure hope so.
