What is the name of your state? Texas
My mother is 65 years old but apparently did not work long enough to draw Social Security herself. She can draw off her ex-husband's, but Social Security told her she had to wait until February 2007 when he will turn 62.
If he chooses not to file for benefits until he turns 65 (don't you get a larger payment for waiting?), will she have to wait until he actually files to draw on his benefits or can she draw on them when he turns 62 and is just entitled to draw?
Does this make sense?
