First, you can look through the mail you have received, over the past few months, and possibly find in that a notice which explains it all. If you got a notice which tells you that your license is suspended, it will usually tell you why that course was followed. Other than that, you can call or write to the California Department of Motor Vehicles and ask them what happened. Could be anything, ranging from a clerk's error to sublime justice.
