I have a son who biological father has never seen since he was born over 10 yrs. ago. Since then I have remarried and have another son. We would like to have our son's name change so every one name in the house is the same, which we have discussed and thought adoption is the answer. We also want to get the biological father family history because my son has alot of problems, having ADDHD, maybe Bipolar we can only help him so far, with only my history. I know he would drop his rights because even with paternity he still thinks he is not his. I tried to call him to get the information but he refused. And I know for a fact his family has alot of problems. How would I get his rights dropped and have my husband adopt my son with also getting his family medical history. Of course with out the cost going through the roof. Thank you. BrendaK.

For the adoption, you get an attorney. Is their court ordered CS in place and is he behind ??

As for the medical records, there is no way you can force the father to reveal that.
