What is the name of your state?Ohio

In February I was injured in an accident. I was given a precription for vicodin for the pain. I am now going back to work and am curious as to how long I may still take the vicodin. I am subject to random urine tests that will surely show the drug I would guess. I am at a point where I still take the vicodin occasionally when my back acts up. I am not on it all the time, and I do not use it when I will be working the next day. If I go to take a drug test, and show positive for this drug, will I be subject to disciplinary action or does my prescription cover me?

Hope this makes sense, thanks for the help.

Have your doctor send a letter to your employer explaining all this; have doc send you a photocopy of the letter. When you report to work, show HR the photocopy and ask to see the original in your file.

In addition to a letter from your doctor, a copy of the Rx be sure to be honest when you go for UA, also a good idea to avoid poppyseeeds.

Okay, so as long as I have proof of my rx I should be fine. Thats what I thought, but it is nice to get other opinions first.

Thanks

That's not what we said.

Re-read the responses.

It also depends on the type of work you are doing. If you are running a forklift, or heavy machinery, they might not allow you to be under the influence of Vicodin. You have to be sure....
