Drugs By Mail

This friend of mine was contacted by another friend of theirs and told that they had just sent them a small box with speed wrapped in saran wrap in it. It was sent by regular mail. It was sent from Louisiana to Texas and did not have a return address on it. Can you tell me what the possibilities are with this package? Do they screen every package? Does a return address make that big of a difference? Will he get busted even though it was only mailed to him, he did not request it? Please help me with these questions.

Ever since the "reign of terror" caused by your friend, and mine, Ted Kazinsky (the Unibomber), the United States mail terminals have been staffed with both bomb and drug sniffing dogs.

My suggestion: Don't pick up the package. It's being tracked and watched.

IAAL thank you so much for replying. The package would be coming to an apartment mail box. Could it simply just be thrown away? I would advise him to write return to sender but there will be no return address on the package. I am very concerned about this situation because he lives with his parents and wife and child and they could be affected also.
