What is the name of your state? pa

If my employer requires me to have a DSL internet connection to work from home, working in the office is not an option, are they required to reimburse me for the cost? If they are not can it be used as a write off come tax time? I work in PA for a company located in Minnesota.

I don't know if they're required to pay for your connection (though I doubt it) but if they DON'T, then you can claim it on your taxes.

There is a place for unreimbused employee expenses on Form 1040 schedule A. This is where you would deduct it if they don't reimburse you.

But note that unreimbursed business expenses are subject to the 2% of adjusted gross income limit. In other words, only the amount of unreimbursed job expenses and miscellaneous dedutions that exceed 2% of adjusted gross are deductible.
