I was convicted for a DUI in Florida in 1987 and went through the whole corrective process of paying the fine, attending the alcohol program and also performing community service. My license was reinstated. I later moved to Maryland and got my license transferred there. In 1995, I renewed my Maryland License upto 2000. When I tried to further renew my license through the mail in 2000, I was told that it had been cancelled based upon adverse information received from the DMV, Florida. When I called the DMV, Florida, they said that it was a mistake and I do not show up in their records at all! Unfortunately, they were just not willing to put this in writing. I went back to the Maryland DMV who said "Too Late" and that my records had been erased in their system. In other words, I had to appear for fresh written and road tests as if I were getting a new license for the very first time in my life! My 20 years of driving experience is wiped out because of one bureaucratic error! Other than this one incident, my driving records is clean as a whistle. Please advice what I can do now to get my Maryland License revived through the mail as I am presently on a consulting assignment out of the USA that is likely to last some time.

Thanking you in advance.

Sincerely,

Francis Samuel
