I was driving from FL to a relatives house in GA. I had to use the restroom and had exited the highway to stop and use the restroom at a gas station. As I exited the gas station I was met with a police officer. He asked me what was wrong with me. To make a long story short. Apparently, someone had called 911 and said I had got in an accident. ??? Funny, but my car had no damage, and no one else involved in the accident could be located. The officer asked me if i was on any medication. I told him i was taking xanax. I was taken to the hospital and subsequently to the police station on that statement. After being booked, I wasn't charged for DUI until after 2 days of being in jail. Anyway I have Fl DL. and I was charged in GA. I already had my arraignment and was appointed a PD. The PD said I should get a Georgia Drivers license otherwise I could never drive again in Georgia. I don't know what to do. I am not a resident of Georgia, so that doesn't make sense. I want to go back to Florida.,However I am stuck up here in GA. until this issue is resolved. I really don't know what I should do at this point.
