What is the name of your state?LA
While I resided in MS. I received a DUI(1st) in August, 2003. My driver's license was suspended for 90 days. Once I received my MS. driver's license back I then moved to Louisiana and obtained a LA driver's license, which I still have. Last week I pleaded guilty to first offense DUI in MS. My MS. driver's license, which I relinqueshed to Louisiana when I obtained a Louisiana driver's license is now suspended for 6 months. My driver's license # in MS was my SS#. In LA it is a different #. Am I still considered a "licensed driver" because I have a legal Louisiana driver's license? In other words what good is it for MS. to supend my MS.driver's license that I no longer have? It was relinqueshed when I obtained my Louisiana license.

What do the Louisiana licensing authorities say when you ask this question?

You may have consequences on your LA license; watch your mail.

In other words, sometimes if you get tickets in one state, they can affect your license in another state.

Just a follow up. I was instructed by my attorney to plead to 1st offense DUI, which placed me on probabtion for 6 months.During the hearing I waived my right of appeal based on my attorney's advice. It was not until AFTER I waived my right to appeal did I learn exactly what the terms of probation were. Had I known of those conditions I would not have agreed to plead. Again, I was not informed of the details of the probation until AFTER the hearing was completed. Any recourse?

If you waived rights and you had a lawyer with you, it would seem to me to be exceptionally difficult for you to prove that you unknowingly plead guilty.

What are the conditions of probation you do not like?
