i n the state of florida i was charged with dui manslaughter and recieved 7 years in prison and another dui in 1993, 10 years later. i was in the process of obtaining my hardship license and completed all of the requirements neccessary. when i went to dmv i was told that i cannot get my hardship license . it is suspended for life due to a legislative law passed in 1998. is this true? why was i permitted and instructed to attend costly dui classes and counseling in order to obtain a hardship license?
