What is the name of your state? AZ
Hi, I had my first DUI with agravated assault, (I hit another car, no one hurt), in 2001, conviction was in 2002, have done my prison time (1 year), probation (2 years), classes, etc. Everything has been done and cleared. I went to get my license reinstated (it was suspended for 3 years, which is up) and they say I have to have the breath machine in my vehicle, and SR22 insurance before they will reinstate. They would not say for how long or why. Is there a SOL on DUI? Or is there a way around doing these costly demands. I need to get on with my life, and without a vehicle and reasonable insurance rates I do not see that being possible. I made a mistake, are they every going to let me put it behind me and move on. By the way, I have not had a drink since 2001, I learned my lesson. Thanks for your time.

Nope. You still have to comply with the court order and/or state laws.
