Dose a DWI result in an automatic conviction in Texas. How would I find out or know if I have a conviction on my record?

Expunging Protitution and DWI

Legal Question

I am trying to get back into the work force after being
out on disability for 4 years for severe depression. I am
36 years old and had a good career before my disability.
I have lived in Dallas Texas the last 10 years. In March
2000, I was arrested for prostitution while I was visiting
Chicago, IL. I bail myself out within 2 hours and was
sent home. I did not see a judge. I did get some
attorneys for my court date which was 8 weeks later. I
did fly back to Chicago and appeared in court. I pleaded
no contest. But, I was still charged of the crime and not
to return to Chicago for at least 2 years. The attorneys
at the time told me that I could get it expunged after 2
years if I did not get in to anymore trouble.

Well, I did get into more trouble. October 2001, I was
arrested and charged with DWI (CLASS B MISDEMEANOR) while
in Dallas where I live. I spent a night in jell and
bailed myself out the next day. I hired an attorney and
appeared in court 8 months later. I completed all my
restitution requirements and I am on mail-in probation
until June 2004. I am been trouble free since.

Can I still get the Chicago prostitution charged expunged?
Can I get the Texas DWI charge expunged? Will these show
up on employer’s background checks? Do I need to mention
them on my application since they are misdemeanor? Any
suggestions for someone who is trying to get a job with a
record?
