What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC

In October of 2007 I was convicted of my first DWI in February of 2008 I was convicted of my second. My license were revoked for 3 years and until recently I was unaware that in order to get them back I had to go through a DMV hearing. In the 3 years I didn't have my license I have completed all the substance abuse classes I was required and I completed 1 year of intense probation and 1 year of supervised and 1 year of unsupervised probation without any problems. I received 8 days in jail that I did over the weekends. I completed all of my community service within the time I was given to do so and I have paid all of my fines. I have even stopped drinking. So basically after my DWI I have been on my best behavior giving the state and no one else any problems. My question is what should I know going into the DMV hearing process? I'm rather nervous about the whole thing. I'm not sure what to expect and I'm not sure if I should get an attorney or not. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

An attorney may help. I've heard of people going to hearings (not DUI hearings) to see how it works and what makes judges mad. That never hurts, if you have time.
